Real Food for Real Kids - Chicken Alfredo Recipe

Makes 7 servings

Chicken Marinade Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken thigh, 1” diced
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp arrowroot
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Pasta & Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1 lb bowtie pasta
  • 3 ½ cup 2% milk
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp organic corn starch
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 85 g parmesan cheese, grated
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ cup rice bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


  1. Dissolve arrowroot and salt in water. Coat diced chicken in mixture and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 325˚F.
  3. Cook pasta in boiling water, drain and set aside.
  4. While pasta is cooking, cook chicken in simmering water. Set aside.
  5. Mix milk, onion powder, olive oil, corn starch and sea salt into a saucepan and bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Turn off heat and add parmesan and paprika into the sauce.
  6. In an oven-safe dish, combine chicken, pasta, and sauce. Top with rice bread crumbs and parsley.
  7. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until centre is hot and top is golden brown

  • Sprinkle nutritional yeast on top for added vitamin B12 & protein.
  • Try this with your favourite whole wheat pasta.
