Meet Richard Ishii, who joined Real Food for Real Kids in October 2021.
What do you do at the Real Food for Real Kids?
I am the Production Team Lead. I have a variety of responsibilities in a day. Some of those include fulfilling urgent requests from clients, logging daily transactions for the following day’s production into our system, data entry of the team’s labour hours, and ensuring weekly cleaning checklists are completed.
When the Production Supervisor is unavailable, I attend our daily morning huddles to represent the Production Team and report our relevant news, and contribute to the meat purchasing meetings.
What do you love about working at RFRK?
The reason why I’m here at RFRK is for my family and life. When I was a cook for hotels and casinos and restaurants, for most days I would be doing 14 hrs a day. No time for family and friends. Now I have time to spend with my family.
What’s your favourite Real Food recipe?
I have two, I like the Beef Burger and the Trinidadian Curry Beef. Why I like these two is because I love beef.
What types of activities do you enjoy outside of work?
Most of the time I’m with my older son training and practicing his baseball skills. Along with baseball, I also do some basketball, hockey, football and soccer.
Do you wish you could play an active part in feeding kids healthy, nutritious & delicious food?
