In 2008, when the Real Food Lunch Club program started in elementary schools, RFRK created a subsidy program called Real Food Forward (RFF).
RFF leverages donations from RFRK, parents, and generous community members, into free or subsidized lunches for students that need a helping hand. Since it’s implementation, RFF has provided over 29,000 free meals to students in elementary schools throughout the GTA! In 2013, RFRK proudly partnered with the Toronto Foundation for Student Success.
Real Food Lunch Club (RFLC)
- For every 20 students registered at an RFLC school, one student will receive a free lunch during the days of service
- Principals identify the students(s) and communicate with RFRK directly for registration
- Those who participate in RFF are kept confidential
When students are absent, parents have the option to get reimbursed or donate their RFLC lunch credits to students in need
