Meet Winnie Zhang, who joined Real Food For Real Kids in March 2023.
What do you do at Real Food For Real Kids?
I first started at RFRK as a Dietetic Student where I analyzed the menus from a nutrition perspective. Now, I am a Menu Planning Analyst at RFRK. In my current role, I ensure our menus run smoothly by managing centre-wide allergen requests, and help make menu adjustments to improve efficiency in production and budgeting. Quick decision-making is key, especially when unexpected challenges arise, making my role dynamic.
Why do you work for RFRK? Or what do you love about working for RFRK?
I love working for RFRK because it lets me use my background in nutrition to make a real difference in people’s lives. Crafting menus that are both healthy and delicious means we can impact the well-being of those we serve, which is incredibly rewarding. Plus, being part of a supportive team that shares the same passion makes the experience even more fulfilling. It’s the perfect blend of doing what I love and making a difference alongside great people!
If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?
If I was a superhero I’d choose to be Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. Like Groot, I strive to be a reliable and steadfast presence in my role and contribute to my team in a positive way.
Favourite RFRK meal and why?
My favourite RFRK meal is the white bean curry. I love it for its delicious coconut flavour, which adds a rich and creamy twist to the dish. The combination of white beans and coconut creates a comforting and flavourful experience that I always look forward to.
What are some activities you enjoy outside of work?
I love trying new restaurants in the city, going to concerts, singing karaoke, and taking film photos!
