remembering the dovercourt days!
After our grassroots beginnings serving up real food on Bloor West, we relocated to our second kitchen on Dovercourt in 2009, experiencing amazing growth along the way!
We welcomed more incredible team members, expanded our fleet of vans delivering delicious food, & most importantly, reached more kids with our mission of fuelling healthy futures than ever before. For the real deal stats: this facility eventually served over 15,000 kids, employed over 100 people, & operated a fleet of 20 delivery vans. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated partners, staff, suppliers, & the kids who make it all worthwhile!
During our time at Dovercourt, we transformed the space from a bakery production facility, customizing it to meet our complex needs perfectly. We also amped up our RFRK identity with a bright blue colour scheme! This vibrant blue (and lots of it!) is still with us today & always brings smiles to faces. Our signature look also really came together with our first Real Food for Real Kids storefront sign & the building art of the first RFRK buddies. With our facility feeling more like home every day, we also focused on activities that engaged our community, like our very own vegetable garden, the Dovercourt Games, & more!
