As we continue reflecting on 20 years of real food, we’re diving into a topic that’s been close to our hearts since day one: food allergies and dietary requirements. At RFRK, we cater to the individual needs of thousands of kids every day. And looking back on the years, it’s heartwarming to know that we’ve built trust through our commitment to meeting every child’s needs and taking stress off of parents’ plates!
We take food allergies & dietary requirements seriously by accommodating major allergies (like no fish, no egg, no dairy, no gluten) and catering to specific centre-wide restrictions, like no coconut or no apples. Read more about our process here.
but at RFRK, it doesn’t stop there.
We believe in tasty food for all kids, and regardless of allergies, we always cook from scratch with real ingredients. Kids with dietary needs receive delightful substitutions that provide the best pairing, variety & nutritional value while closely matching what the other kids are having. Different = delicious, nutritious & never feeling left out. Even when kids have multiple allergies, you can be sure they’ll have something great to eat.
For example, with our rice pasta & vegan-friendly cheese sauce, gluten-free and dairy-free kids can enjoy a scrumptious Mac’n Cheese like their friends. We’ve also got other amazing options like hummus made without sesame, egg & dairy-free baked goods, and a variety of gluten-free breads.
